Primary Dust Systems

To remove and re-use coarse primary dust, normally between 75 & 200 microns entrained in the dryer exhaust gases, Parker Plant offer two systems, skimmers or multi cyclones.

SKIMMERS

These are designed for use with fixed plants and collect airborne dust introducing a semi-cyclonic action to the airflow. This cyclonic action induces the heavier dust to be thrown centrifugally to the outer edge of the skimmer where adjustable blades are positioned. The blades cut into the airstream and “skim” the coarse dust for collection and return to the hot elevator, normally through a gravity flap discharge.

MULTI-CYCLONES

The compact size of multi cyclone assemblies makes them ideal for use in mobile or transportable asphalt plants where the need to move the plant frequently is an important factor to be considered. A multi-cyclone package is usually small enough to be mounted on the dryer chassis, close to the point where the dust-laden gases exit the dryer and also a short distance, via screw conveyor(s), for the collected dust to be returned to the feed point of the hot material elevator.
